The creative sector accounts for over 6.5% of the UK’s GDP, translating to £108 billion and employing 2.3 million people. It is a fusion of culture, art, and business. As part of its “Creative Sector Vision” strategy, the UK government supports the growth and geographical expansion of creative industries.
Together with the Invest in Lodz team from the City of Lodz Office, we participated in a trip to Scotland aimed at exploring the creative sector there. In addition to meetings with organizations like Creative Scotland, Creative Edinburgh, the City Council of Edinburgh, and the British Council, we had the opportunity to experience the August festival season firsthand, which serves as a hallmark of the city and attracts several million tourists.
The delegation included representatives from Lodz’s creative sectors who are working with us on their positioning and development.
The trip was a continuation of efforts initiated during Creative Network by Filmteractive 2023, where we showcased British creative sectors and began networking activities with their representatives.
